The Fifty Shades star spoke about the main difficulty she encountered on the set of Madame Web.
Dakota Johnson will be the protagonist of the new Columbia Pictures and Sony film on the Marvel character, Madame Web, directed by SJ Clarkson. The actress, famous for the role of Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades saga, spoke in an interview about her particular experience with the blue screen on the set of the latest film.
“I’ve never done a movie where you’re on a blue screen and there are fake explosions going off and someone says ‘Explosion!’ and you have to act like there’s actually an explosion. For me, it was absolutely psychotic. I was like, ‘I don’t know if this is going to be any good! I hope I did a decent job!'”.
Trust in the director
Dakota Johnson underlined the great trust placed in SJ Clarkson, the director of Madame Web:“I trusted her! She works so hard, and she hasn’t taken her eyes off this movie since we started”.
The actress explained how she approached the Madame Web project:“I was sent this script, and I was like, ‘I don’t know if I see myself as a superhero.’” But Cassandra’s allure won her over: “I was sort of fascinated by her superpowers. I had this feeling of, ‘Oh, I’d really like this superhero. I’d like to see a young woman whose superpower is her mind.'”.
Johnson also recalled the action sequences in which she was involved:“It turns out I’m really good at it! I can do crazy things with a car. I drove an ambulance. I drove a taxi. I drove everything in the movie except flying through the air and off a building. But other than that I’m like ‘Watch out, Tom Cruise'”.
