Oppenheimer, accusations from the physicist's nephew: "There is a serious historical error in the film"

Cillian Murphy he is a very talented actor who has distinguished himself over time in dozens of great productions, but without a doubt the role he is most associated with is that of Tommy Shelbyprotagonist of Peaky Blinders, the series that follows the events of the Peaky Blinders criminal gang in the years after the First World War. The series has given us moments that we have seen and seen again a thousand times and it is a much loved and appreciated product, despite 5 inconsistencies that have always gone unnoticed.

In 2023 we saw the Irish actor star in the film Oppenheimer (here is our review of the film) and is enjoying his well-deserved moment of glory in which he is giving various interviews. In one of the last ones, made with Extra TV, the actor revealed what his favorite films of the year just ended were.

Cillian Murphy greatly appreciated the works of Lanthimos and Payne

In a recent interview with Extra TV Cillian Murphy answered the question about his favorite films in 2023. His answer is:

I loved it a lot Poor Creatures by Yorgos Lanthimos, was without a doubt one of my favorites. Another film that I loved then was The Holdovers by Alexander Payne. I think overall 2023 was a fantastic year for cinema, there are many other films to mention, but personally these two are the ones I loved the most.

Cinematic 2023 was characterized by the so-called ‘Barbenheimer’ media phenomenon, resulting from the fact that in the United States the two films Barbie of Greta Gerwig e Oppenheimer by Christopher Nolan arrived in theaters on the same day (July 21, 2023). Among other things, Murphy said that he would be happy to play Ken in a sequel to Barbie.

Both films are nominated for the 2024 Oscars as Best Film (here are all the nominations from the 96th edition). They compete for the prize with Poor Things (Poor Creatures) e The Holdovers – the two films mentioned by Murphy – but also with American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Past Lives e The Zone of Interest.
