In the United States, Ghost Whisperer it aired on CBS from 2005 to 2009. Melinda was the owner of an antique shop with the ability – not always welcome – to see and speak with the souls of deceased people, who for some reason remained anchored to the world of the living. The cast also included David Conrad as Melinda’s husband and Camryn Manheim of her best friend. The series was canceled at the end of the fifth season, after the average audience that year had gone from 10.62 to 7.78 million viewers (from 3.7 to 1.9 rating in the 18-49 target demographic), numbers that today would be manna from heaven while streaming platforms continue to distance viewers from traditional channels.
