The Vista Theater cinema in Los Feliz, purchased by Quentin Tarantino in 2021, is finally ready to unveil its renovation with a special screening that will be held on Saturday 11 November 2023, on the anniversary of True Romance (in Italy A life to the fullest), with Tarantino himself as guest. The cinema’s regular programming will then begin on November 17 with Thanksgivingnew film by Eli Rothin 35mm, followed by Napoleon Of Ridley Scott in 70 mm starting November 22nd.

“Quentin has basically maintained the auditorium: it is intact, it has been renovated and it is still new and beautiful, but the auditorium as a whole is in pristine condition”said the operations director Lance Alspaugh. The reopening of the century-old theater is another sign that Los Angeles moviegoers are eager to support classic and independent film programming, particularly at historic venues. Another example is Netflix’s Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, built over 100 years ago, which has begun a renovation in collaboration with the American Cinematheque.

We are still in the realm of rumors, but later Samuel L. JacksonAlso John Travolta could join the cast of Tarantino’s tenth and final film, The Movie Critic. The rumor, currently unconfirmed, is spread by insider Jeff Sneider, who claims that the entire cast of the film has already been chosen, but it has not been officially communicated due to the ongoing strike.

The Movie Critic, which should feature Paul Walter Hauser as the protagonist (another piece of news yet to be confirmed), could thus represent a joyful swansong for Quentin Tarantino, who could bring together some icons of his cinema on the set. There are even rumors of a possible cameo by Bruce Williswho could intervene on the set despite the illness that afflicts him.
