The portrayal of Bruce Lee in the film Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood was not liked by his daughter Shannon, who has not yet understood Quentin Tarantino’s point of view.

The daughter of Bruce LeeShannon, is back to talking about Quentin Tarantino claiming that he still hasn’t understood why the director portrayed his father in a negative way in his film Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood.
The scenes featuring the martial arts star have led to some distant criticism and debate, without apparently leading to any real clarification.

Shannon Lee, answering questions from The Telegraph on Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood he explained: “I find it interesting. I actually don’t know. I’ve never met Quentin Tarantino. I don’t know what his problems are with my father“.
In the interview Bruce Lee’s daughter adds: “She clearly thinks my dad is cool, because she borrowed a lot from him. But at the same time I think he was told a lot of stories by people who met my father and he had a negative reaction. They found him too self-confident or arrogant“.

Shannon Lee pointed out: “I have to say, from my experience, the stories are predominantly from white men. I think Quentin heard a lot of those stories and he believed them. I think a lot of people viewed my father as presumptuous“.

In the film Bruce Lee is played by Mike Moh and clashes with stutman Cliff Booth, a role played by Brad Pitt. The director had defended the portrayal of the star by claiming that it was a fictional project and, based on the research he had carried out, “Bruce Lee was an arrogant guy“.
