As anticipated by Variety, none of the members of the Justice League are expected to reprise their roles in Gunn’s DCU, including Miller.
A few days ago, an in-depth article from Variety had launched the scoop according to which no member of the Justice League Of Zack Snyder would reprise his role in James Gunn’s new DCUincluded Ezra Millerwhose Flash is due for a recasting.
This December, the DCEU will close for good with the release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. James Gunn and Peter Safran have announced that they want to bring back some of the same actors to reprise their roles in the new continuity, such as John Cena’s Peacemaker, Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller and Xolo Mariduena’s Blue Beetle.
However, as reported by Variety, the plan involves recasting all members of the Justice League for the DCU, including Miller’s Flash.
The Flash with Ezra Miller was a colossal flop
Miller’s exit won’t come as a shock to many DC fans. In addition to the problematic events surrounding the actor, which brought negative publicity to The Flash, the film performed poorly in theaters. This certainly greatly reduced the chances of Miller remaining in the role in the DCU as well.
DCU: No Justice League member actors will reprise their roles in the future
As for the eventual successor to the Scarlet Speedster, it may be a while before an announcement is made, as no Flash-based projects have been announced from Gunn’s DC Studios. It could also take years for a new actor to be cast as the next Barry Allen on the big screen.
