Star Wars: A historic character from the franchise returns in Ahsoka (SPOILERS)

The character of Star Wars that we see again in Ahsoka is the droide C-3POwhich appeared for the first time way back in 1977 in the first film of the original trilogy, Star Wars – A New Hope. In episode 7 he makes a surprise appearance, voiced, moreover, by his historical interpreter Anthony Daniels. He comes to the rescue of General Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) to help you solve some difficult diplomatic problems. At the beginning of the episode, in fact, Hera faces disciplinary action from the leaders of the New Republic. Specifically, Senator Xiono (Nelson Lee) tries to remove her from her position, after she disobeyed orders by deciding to go and help Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) on the planet Seatos, despite not having had permission.

At the last minute C-3PO arrives and resolves things, even bringing a message from the well-known senator Leia Organa (already mentioned on other occasions in previous episodes). Leia’s message states that she “personally authorized” Hera’s reconnaissance mission, thus clearing the general. Mon Mothma realizes that it’s just a clever ploy to defend her friend Hera from her, but it’s enough to clear Hera’s name and keep her from losing her job.

The presence of C-3PO in the Star Wars franchise

Let’s remember that Anthony Daniels can currently boast a true record: He is the only actor to appear in every single film of Star Warsincluding the nine Skywalker saga films and spin-offs Rogue One e Solo. He has played C-3PO countless times over 45 years, including voicing him in animated series, video games, and other projects (twelve live-action appearances in all, more than any other character in the C-3PO canon). Star Wars). C-3PO had previously appeared, only in the background, even in an early episode of the series Obi-Wan Kenobi but on that occasion we had not heard his voice. In this case, therefore, it is the first time that the character and his interpreter play an important role in one serie live-action set in the galaxy of Star Wars. This cameo comes after those of other already known characters such as those of Mon Mothma played by Genevieve O’Reilly and Anakin Skywalker with the face of Hayden Christensen.
