Captain Marvel: Brie Larson's Carol is older than we think, studio confirms

The character of Carol Danvers was first introduced in 2019 with the release of Captain Marvela film that came out shortly before Avengers: Endgame and which was set primarily during the 1990s. But how old is the character of Brie Larson?

In an official post from Marvel India’s X (formerly Twitter) account, a graphic revealed that Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers is actually over 60 years old in human years. The post doesn’t indicate a specific age and only shows “60+,” but this revelation still came as a bit of a shock to fans.

Many believed that since Larson was 28 when she filmed Captain Marvel, her character would be the same age in the year the film took place (1995). If so, it would mean that she Carol was born in 1967, which would make her approximately 56 years old in 2023.

Some fans have made compelling arguments that Carol was born in 1965, but that would put her age at around 58.

Given that The Marvels is set in 2025, many believed that Carol would be between 58 and 60 years old, so the confirmation that the character is actually over 60 is certainly a surprise.

The Marvels, Brie Larson reveals what Carol Danvers did after Endgame: “she became a workaholic”

Carol does not age like any other living being, this is because she received a blood transfusion from Yon-Rogg; this means that she has Kree DNA in her body and the Kree age much slower than humans.

The Marvel will be released in Italian cinemas on 8 November 2023.
