Is La Promessa, the soap on Canale 5 over or not?
The promise today the last episode of 2023 airs.
Started last May 29th on Canale 5, The promise – which achieved such success on the Iberian network La 1 that it was reconfirmed for a second season, currently broadcast in its home country – has conquered the Italian audience of the soaps broadcast on Mediaset channels.
Despite the fact that at the beginning of September a stop was already feared The promise with the return of the autumn schedule, for the first three weeks of September the soap maintained its position, although it was postponed until later Men women and leaving the 2.45pm slot for Maria De Filippi’s dating show. The promise it has proven to be a valid driving force – with peaks of 21% share – since it was scheduled at 4.20pm with a daily appointment halved compared to that of the summer months.

Despite the more than encouraging results – especially in view of the return of the Rai 1 battleship made up of Ladies’ Paradise Daily e Life Live -, The promise stops on Canale 5. In its place, starting from September 25th, there will be the day-time strip of Friends of Maria De Filippi, followed by the day-time of Big Brother. Then space for Myrta Merlino with hers Afternoon 5.
After the stop a My Home My Destiny, which moved to Mediaset Infinity from 4 September with the unpublished episodes of the second season available in streaming from Monday to Friday, Canale 5 loses another soap. The unshakable Beautiful and Terra Amara remain, even if both will have to give up the Sunday appointment to make room for Friends of Maria De Filippi and, to follow, very true hosted by Silvia Toffanin.
It is not clear whether Mediaset will want to replicate the experiment of continuing the programming of its soaps on Mediaset Infinity, as it chose to do with My Home My Destiny. Much more likely we will have to wait until next summer to return to following the events of Jana, Manuel and all the protagonists of The promise.
