The Continental – From the world of John Wick when does it come out?
We welcome the TV series event on the narrative universe of John Wick entitled The Continental, available in Italy on Amazon Prime Video from 22 September 2023.
It was 2014 when Keanu Reeves he played for the first time Jonathan “John” Wick, a former assassin who after the death of his wife retired to private life together with his dog, the last gift given to him by the woman on her deathbed. Wick returned to action after being brutally attacked by a group of men sent by the city boss, finding himself dealing with organized crime.
An action-thriller released in US cinemas on 24 October 2014 and in Italian cinemas on 22 January 2015, which is now transformed into a TV series to the delight of all fans of the genre. The net Starzin collaboration with Lionsgate in fact he continues his work on Prequel television spin-off of the John Wick saga, titled The Continental. The Continental promises to include thunderous fight sequences and the intense clashes between professional assassins and their targets that fans have come to expect in the John Wick film series and to introduce some new dark characters that inhabit this underground world.“
What is The Continental, the John Wick TV series
It was June 2017, when it was announced that Chad Stahelski and screenwriter Derek Kolstad were working on a television series for Lionsgate set in the universe of the John Wick films. Later in 2017, it was also communicated the presence of Keanu Reeves in the series he would have reprized his role as John Wick. What is he talking about The Continental? The Starz TV series explores the origins of the Continental – hotel for assassins – the basis of the world of John Wick. To do this, the series uses the gaze and actions of a young man Winston Scott. We see him as he is dragged by events in the hellish New York of 1975, thus finding himself facing a past that he thought he had left behind. The objective is to take over the iconic hotel, meeting point of the most dangerous criminals in the world, through a journey into the underground world of a hypnotic and fascinating New York with its mysterious underground world.
The John Wick films have grossed nearly $600 million worldwide so far, with each film surpassing its predecessor. John Wick: Chapter Four arrived in theaters around the world last March, while the film spin-off is being prepared Ballerina with Ana De Amars.

Colin Woodell was cast in the role of the protagonist Winston Scott, a young version of the iconic character from the John Wick film franchise, whose origins are told through this event series.
The protagonist is also joined by Hubert Point-Du Jour as Miles, Jessica Allain come Lou, Mishel Prada come KD, Velvet Kate as Yen, Mel Gibson in the part of Cormac e Ben Robson in Frankie’s.
They join them Ray McKinnon as Jenkins, Katie McGrath as The Judge, Adam Shapiro as Lemmy, and Mark Musashi e Marina Mazepa as the assassins Hansel & Gretel. Ayomide Adegun, Jeremy Bobb (Russian Doll, The Knick) e Peter Greene (Training Day, For Life) join the cast of the highly anticipated project. Three o’clock new entry announced they join the cast of the series in their respective roles as Uncle Charlie (Peter Greene), Charon (Ayomide Adegun) that’s it Mayhew (Jeremy Bobb).

According to some rumors, too Keanu Reeves he may appear in the series as John Wick, but he will not be the main star of the TV series. The actor will, however, appear as an executive producer of the project together with Basil Iwanyk and Chad Stahelski, who directed all three films John Wick. Stahelski talked about the series three years ago when it was still in development, saying: “(The Serie) It has a really good structure, it’s very connected to the film. (The Continental) It’s not about John Wick.”

The Continental TV series episodes, how many are there?
There are three episodes of the first season. Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward are writers and showrunners for the series.
The executive producer Albert Hughes (The Good Lord Bird – The Story of John Brown, Codex Genesis) directs the first and third episodes of the series, of which he is also an executive producer together with Greg Coolidge (Wayne, Probationary Cop) e Kirk Ward (The Turkey Bowl, Wayne). Charlotte Brandström (The Lord of the Rings, The Witcher) will direct the second episode, while Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Shawn Simmons, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese and Marshall Persinger of Thunder Road Pictures will also serve as executive producers. Lionsgate Television makes the TV series.
When are episodes of The Continental released on Prime Video?
Divided into three parts, the first chapter of The Continental debuts on Prime Video Friday 22 September 2023, followed by new episodes every Friday. Below is a complete outline with all the dates of the episodes.
