One Piece Netflix TV series released
One Piece live-action TV series has arrived. It’s fixed for Thursday 31 August 2023 the release date of the series available exclusively on Netflix.
The streaming giant has chosen Tomorrow Studios and the Japanese publishing house Shueisha as a partner to create the flesh-and-blood series of One Piece. From Japan to the world.
It will be a co-production between Netflix and Tomorrow Studios the adaptation of the manga that has sold over 460 million copies since its debut in 1997, on the pages of Weekly Shōnen Jump. Netflix is in charge of the physical production of the series.
The chosen showrunner is Steven Maeda, who will be involved in the creation of the series also as screenwriter and executive producer. Alongside him is the previously announced Matt Owens.

Filming of the TV series started on January 31, 2022 in South Africa, while the last take took place on July 10, 2022. The path of this project was certainly tortuous. The announcement of the project came almost three years ago by Hiroyuki Nakano, head of the Japanese magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump, on July 21, 2017 in Tokyo.
At the time, Nakano confirmed the One Piece serial project as part of the projects inaugurated on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the series, a milestone achieved that year from the first time that One Piece was published on the pages of Weekly Shōnen Jump in Japan.
Wednesday 29 January 2020, Netflix makes it official that the project is coming to the streamer.

Netflix announced on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 that the cast you One Piece TV series was chosen and released the names of the five leading actors who make up the original Straw Hat crew.

Inaki Godoy (What happened to Sara?) was chosen to play the undisputed protagonist of the manga Monkey D. Luffy known as Straw Hat; Mackenyu (Pacific Rim: Uprising) will be the swordsman Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd (Fear Street) is the actress who plays the skilled thief Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson (All Rise) is the face of Usopp and finally Taz Clouds will be Sanji, the Don Juan cook.

They complete the cast Morgan Davies (The End, The Evil Dead: Rise) as Koby, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino (The Sex Lives of College Girls, Me Time) as Alvida, Aidan Scott (Action Point, Between the Devil) in the guise of Helmeppo, Jeff Ward (Brand New Cherry Flavor, Hacks) as Buggy, McKinley Belcher III (Ozark, The Good Lord Bird) who lends his face to Arlong, Vincent Regan (Troy, 300) who plays Garp, Steven Ward as Mihawk and Celeste Loots as Kaya. In the series they also appear Langley Kirkwood in the guise of Captain Morgan, Alexander Maniatis who lends his face to Klahadore, Craig Fairbass as Chef Zeff e Good luck Umeala in the guise of Nojiko.
One Piece TV series plot, starting from the East Sea Saga

At the end of December 2017 it was confirmed by producer Marty Adelstein on the occasion of the Jump Festa that the story of the One Piece TV series will start from the saga of East Blueknown in Italy as The East Sea Sagaand then broaden the narrative scope.
At the center of the plot is a very young man Luffya child from the eastern sea who meets a pirate named Shanks. This meeting marks the beginning of Luffy’s adventure, which begins to recruit the first members of his crew. The series also introduces the icon that is Gol D. Rogers, the pirate king who before dying encouraged those present to go in search of his legendary treasure, One Piece. On his journey Luffy will not be alone but with Zoro, Nami, Usopp e Sanji.
The manga of One Piece debuted with this saga in 1997 and was adapted into an anime television series that debuted in 1999. The protagonist is Straw Hat Luffy, who dreams of becoming king of the pirates, going in search of what is thought to be the greatest treasure of the world, One Piece.

As confirmed by Oda, the first season of the live action series of One Piece account otto episodes.
Produce the project of One Piece tv series the Tomorrow Studioswhich also creates the series for Netflix live-action Cowboy Bebop, Snowpiercer (again for the United States and Netflix) e Hanna (Amazon Prime Video), and the executive producer of Prison Break Marty Adelstein. The debut date is still waiting to be announced.
The author is also involved in the creation of the live action series Eiichiro Oda as executive producer alongside Adelstein and Becky Clements. Commenting on the announcement of the television series, Oda assured fans that the live-action series will be a project that fans of the manga can be proud of, promising not to disappoint those who have supported the anime for over twenty years.
On 22 July 2019 it was announced through the weekly newspaper Weekly Shōnen Jump That Matt Owensformer screenwriter of Marvel’s Luke Cage, Agents of SHIELD e The Defenderswill write the screenplays for the live action TV series of One Piece. In commenting on the announcement, Owens stated his willingness to “Create an exciting live-action television series that stays true to the original story and satisfies not only longtime fans, but also brings in new acolytes”.
