The Flight Attendant 3: Kaley Cuoco brings new updates on the series

Based on the novel of the same name by Chris Bohjalian, The Flight Attendant is the television adaptation and debuted in November 2020 on the service previously called HBO Max (in Italy on the Now TV streaming platform).
The show’s first season was a smashing success, with Cassie Bowden (Kaley Cuoco) as the titular flight attendant. By regularly displaying reckless behavior and battling alcoholism, Cassie she wakes up in a Bangkok hotel room next to the dead body of a man she had slept with the previous night. Her interpretation paid off Cuoco two Emmy nominations and led to a quick second season renewal.

TVLine has brought an update on the future of comedy-thrillers

The television series ended in May 2022 and in the following months both the lead actress and the rest of the crew questioned the third season of The Flight Attendant; a source of Max (new name of the streaming platform of HBO), stated that at the moment no official decision has been made on the future of the show.

In his initial comments on season three, Cuoco he said in part: “We made two, we should probably be done“. The former student of The Big Bang Theory he explained that the dramedy could still make a comeback and that some of his favorite shows have taken some time to return.
This approach may be the best, especially given the milder reception season 2 has been given.

The second season of the adaptation premiered in the busy Emmy contention period between April and May 2022, ultimately garnering less fan coverage and attention than other Emmy-favorite series like Better Call Saul.
This is in contrast to the fact that the first season of The Flight Attendant became a surprise hit in the quieter time of November 2020, telling an entertaining and comprehensive story that was both entertaining and emotionally resonant. When it was renewed, likely due to positive response from audiences and critics, it gave the characters a satisfying farewell.

While season 2 got off to a strong start, the ending was incredibly implausible and rushed and seemed to indicate that the story had nothing left to do. To add to the disappointment, the supposedly highly skilled villains were eliminated too easily and the previous balance between comedy, horror and tension was lost.
Maybe in the end there will be a new life for Cassiebut one should not be in a hurry to get there.
