Netflix has just unveiled the official release date for the fourth and final season of Sex Education: for the residents of Moordale this will be a season full of love, laughter, tears, friendships and relationships.

The fourth and last season Of Sex Education will be released on September 21 only on Netflix: Asa Butterfield returns to play the protagonist Otis Milburn, alongside him Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Aimee-Lou Wood, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Mimi Keene. Also confirmed in their respective roles are George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu, Dua Saleh, Alistair Petrie, Samantha Spiro, Jim Howick, Rakhee Thakrar and Daniel Ings.

Joining the cast in this final season are Dan Levy, Emmy winner for Best Supporting Actor for Schitt’s Creek, Thaddea Graham (Doctor Who), Lisa McGrillis (Somewhere Boy), Marie Reuther (Kamikaze), actress and model Jodie Turner Smith, comedian Eshaan Akbar and newcomers Felix Mufti, Anthony Lexa, Alexandra James, Reda Elazouar, Bella Maclean and Imani Yahshua.

Since its debut on Netflix in 2019, Sex Education has been nominated for and won numerous awards, including the 2022 International Emmy Awards for Best Comedy Series. Furthermore, in the first 91 days of its release, the third season has totaled 66.6 million views.

In a letter to fans, creator, writer and executive producer Laurie Nunn said: “We are incredibly proud of Sex Education and are indebted to our amazing team of writers, actors and crew who put so much love into making every episode. They’ve worked tirelessly on this final season, and we can’t wait to share it with you“.

The synopsis for Sex Education 4 reads: “After Moordale High closes, Otis and Eric face a fresh start – their first day at Cavendish Sixth Form College. Otis is nervous about starting a new clinic, while Eric desperately hopes they won’t be “geeks” again. Cavendish Institute comes as a culture shock to all Moordale students, who until then thought they were progressives. This new school is very different, yoga is practiced every day in the common garden, the atmosphere is dedicated to sustainability and there is a group of popular kids for their… kindness?! Viv is totally shocked by the students’ uncompetitive attitude, while Jackson is still trying to get over her affair with Cal. Aimee decides to do something new by taking art classes, and Adam tries to figure out if a traditional education is right for him. Back in the United States, Maeve is living her dream at prestigious Wallace University, where she is taught by cult author Thomas Molloy. Otis pines for her, while he has to get used to the fact that he’s no longer her only child, or the only therapist in school…
