The Sandman 2, Neil Gaiman: “The show will only be canceled if the actors are eaten by weasels”
Who is Orpheus in the Sandman universe
If Orpheus’ identity is confirmed, it will mark the introduction of another major character to the universe of The Sandman. Orpheus, which first debuted in The Sandman #29 as part of Fables and Reflections, is none other than the son of Morpheus and Calliope. The introduction of him, however, is rather unusual since Orpheus has been presented simply as a head deprived of the body.
Curiously Orpheus’ name was mentioned during the bonus episode of The Sandman. It was established that he had died in a horrific way and it seems that the writers of the series have been pondering for some time to make him a central figure of the second season. Since he is the son of Morpheus and Calliope, time will tell what happens between him and his father in the photos released.
