The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has revealed the list of 398 people who have received invitations to join the organization and the names include Taylor Swift, Austin Butler, Ke Huy Quan and Paul Mescal.

L’Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 398 people, including artists and executives, to become members and among those who have received the coveted invitation there are also Taylor Swift, Austin ButlerKe Huy Quan and Paul Mescal.
The organization annually sends out invitations to become a new member to directors, screenwriters, producers, musicians, executives, spokespeople, communications managers, casting directors, cinematographers, production designers, editors, make-up and hair stylists, production designers and sound.
A list including Oscar winners and nominees
Announcing the list of those who have been invited to become members, the organization’s CEO, Bill Kramer, and president Janet Yang said: “The Academy is proud to welcome these artists and professionals to our membership. They represent global talent in various cinematic disciplines and have made a vital impact on the arts and sciences of cinema and cinephiles around the world“.
Among those who received the letter are Oscar winners Ke Huy Quan, the Danielses and editor Paul Rodgers.
If all the invitees were to accept, the total members of the Academy would reach 10817, with 9375 having the right to vote for nominations and Oscar awards.

Among the invited actors are: Selma Blair, Austin Butler, Kerry Condon, Robert John Davi, Bill Hader, Nicholas Hoult, Stephanie Hsu, Vicky Krieps, Joanna Kulig, Lashana Lynch, Noémie Merlant, Paul Mescal, Keke Palmer, Park Hae- il, Ke Huy Quan, Rosa Salazar.
In the category of directors there are names such as Colm Bairead, Edward Berger, Antonio Campos, Anthony Chen, Lukhas Dhont, Joseph Kosinski, Daniel Kwan, Francisco Lombardi, Daniel Scheinert, Maria Schrader, Michael Showalter, Agnieszka Smoczynska.
In the other categories, space for musicians such as David Byrne, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd; to animation experts like Bruno Caetano and Dean Fleischer Camp; and to writers who also include Jack Thorne and Charlotte Wells.
