Hemsworth later explained himself better: “I was fresh from the movie Thor where a lot of my workouts were focused on body building, body shapingBut playing Tyler Rake’s “rock ’em sock ’em” mercenary 2 required a different set of skills, more geared toward stamina to keep up with the long takes of hand-to-hand combat that director Sam Hargrave had predicted for its star.

“I did a lot more cardio training, a lot more function, movement and flexibilityHemsworth continued about his different training than Thor.And then we shot 12-14 hours a day, plus rehearsals after work and on weekends.
