Breaking Bad: Bryan Cranston would return as Walter White on one condition

Malcom, Breaking Bad, Your Honor: these are just a few titles from the career of Bryan Cranston, an actor with a great talent and loved by the public that we have seen in TV series, films and in the theater. A few days ago the news of his farewell to the stage came out, which he promptly clarified by revealing that he will not retire forever but will take a sabbatical year.

At the TV series level, Cranston is very famous for the role of Walter White in Breaking Badwhich led to him winning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series four times (2008, 2009, 2010 and 2014) and a Golden Globe Award in 2014.

Created by Vince Gilligan, Breaking Bad ended in 2013, but Cranston reprized his role in the The wayin the spin-off series Better Call Saul and in the PopCorners Super Bowl commercial. The actor recently revealed that he would go back to being Walter White on one condition.

Bryan Cranston doesn’t rule out the possibility of returning to being Walter White in Breaking Badbut only if there is exciting material

In a recent interview with Awards Radar Bryan Cranston revealed that he would only consider reprising the role of Walter White again if the material was very exciting. The actor said:

I never underrate Vince Gilligan. When April 3, a short time ago, we said that 10 years ago it was our last day of production of Breaking Bad… 10 years ago, when I said goodbye to everyone with tears in my eyes, I thought that was it. Then it came The way. ‘Oh, I guess I’ll be Walter White again’. And then he arrived Better Call Saul, ‘Oh, I guess I’ll be there’… and then came the Pop Corners commercial. “Do you want to do it together?’ ‘Certain!’. It is funny“.

Cranston continued:

I’d be a fool to say, ‘Yes, we’re done.’ I’m going to let there be nothing planned on the horizon and I know Vince wouldn’t want to do something just for the sake of it – he doesn’t need a paycheck and neither do I – so we take note of that. But if there was something that did it like waking up from a dream and exclaiming ‘Oh my God’, and he proposed that I do it, and I too had the same reaction from ‘Oh my God’, then I would consider it.

It’s not often that you get an ‘OH MY GOD’ reaction when reading or listening to a work. If you are stunned and amazed by something, you should pay attention. So, if it were to happen, I’m not assuming it will happen – but if it were to happen, I would pay attention“.

We don’t know if anything like this will ever happen in the future. But as a fan of Breaking Badwe hope!
