Defense attorney 2 becomes reality: Netflix has expressed its verdict by renewing the judicial TV series for a second season. The first chapter of the hit series created by David E. Kelley and developed by Ted Humphrey debuted on Friday, May 13, 2022 on Netflix.
Instead, the official news of the renewal reported by the reliable TvLine. The American site also confirms that, just in view of the second season, the showrunner will receive assistance from Dailyn Rodriguez (The Queen of the South), set to embark on the series as co-showrunner.
No surprise really when we think that the title is taken from the acclaimed bestsellers of the writer Michael Connelly, and that therefore there is still enough material to draw from for the development of the new episodes.

Furthermore, it seems that the streamer himself had managed to grab the title after a long dispute with many platforms that would have liked to distribute the series in his place. For these reasons, also in light of the 884 million total minutes of views for the first season, it seemed unlikely to us to imagine a cancellation on the horizon.

The second season is based on the fourth novel in the saga of Mickey Haller written by Michael Connelly or “The Fifth Witness”. Haller finds himself having to expand into another area – that of home foreclosures – because his practice as a lawyer is not profitable enough. Here Mickey runs into Lisa Trammell, a woman who – like many other people after the economic crisis – is no longer able to repay the mortgage payments contracted with the bank for the purchase of the house.

Mickey will discover that Lisa – a combative and determined woman – has a complex life behind her and has suffered an injustice that has marked her past. When the woman is accused of killing Mitchell Bondurant, the executive who follows her practice, Mickey returns to the role of lawyer as he questions whether her client is really guilty or not.

How does the first cycle of episodes of Defense attorney? The finale of the procedural drama masterminded by David E. Kelley opens with the final trial in the Elliott case (Christopher Gorham). Meanwhile, however, Haller begins to suspect the presence on the jury of a corrupt member right from his colleague and friend Jerry Vincent before dying.
So our lawyer begins to investigate his hunch discovering that, in fact, one of the jurors really stole another person’s identity.
The discovery of this deception suddenly interrupts the process, while Elliott unexpectedly confesses about the death of Mitzi and her lover: he really killed them.

At this point Mickey goes into crisis, but is distracted by the arrival of a phone call from the police: one of his former clients needs his help.
Once we arrive at the place, however, we discover that it is an ambush, and in fact the lawyer is soon attacked and pushed off a ravine. At that moment, however, Harry Bosch and his team are observing the scene and for this reason they intervene just in time to get Haller to safety. Furthermore, it was the fake juror who attacked him.
This discovery ends up shedding light on other unexpected revelations. Behind all this, and even Jerry’s death, is a corrupt judge who was later arrested by the FBI: Mary Holder (LisaGay Hamilton).
A further twist comes from the discovery that Elliott and his secretary have also been killed. At first, Haller points the finger at the judge herself, but then realizes that the family of the lover is hiding behind the criminal’s death. Mitziand in detail another of the women of Jan.

Krista Warner, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Yaya DaCosta, Matt Angel and Angélica María also appear in the second season.
