Netflix was ready to start filming the final season of Stranger Things, but was forced to suspend work due to the writers’ strike.
The scripts for the last few episodes were started late last year, so it’s pretty safe to think that the scripts are pretty much ready. It was to confirm it Finn Wolfhardwho during an interview revealed that he had read some of them:
“I think we’ll be answering a huge amount of questions about the lore of Stranger Things, the building of this world. A lot of people will be happy to come back – it’s the last season, so we want to go back to our roots. It’s going to be really exciting. I’m obviously excited about to go back to shooting, but it will also be very sad. Speaking as a fan, I’m happy to find out where all the characters end up. But I don’t know how it will end yet, I’ve only read the first three scripts, so we’ll see.”.
Meanwhile the brothers Duffer have indicated that the scripts are finished, but that they will be further refined during filming, meaning that the cameras cannot start rolling until the WGA strike concludes:
“Writing doesn’t stop when filming begins. While we’re excited to begin production with our amazing cast and crew, it’s not possible during this strike. We hope a fair settlement is reached soon so we can all get back to work.” Until then, #wgastrong”.
