“Six Seasons and a Movie” has become a mantra for Community and his fans: for years already it’s about making a movie and finally we will have it: in September 2022, Peacock has started production. However, we will have to wait a little longer to see it.
From the beginning of May the organization WGA (Writers Guild of America) called one writers’ strike of films and TV series with the request for better working conditions and better salaries. This strike is impacting the production of numerous movies and TV series, including the film by Communityas protagonist Joel McHale reveals.

The filming of the film Community they were due to start in June but like other projects were blocked due to the WGA strike.
Joel McHaleinterpreter of Jeff Winger, spoke about it in a recent interview with TVLine. The actor said:
“It’s a shame, because we were so close to the start of filming. But at the same time I support the writers a thousand per thousand. Screenwriters have to be paid.”
Jeff Winger’s interpreter goes on to say that the film “yes it will”is that “When the strike is over, we’ll go back to set and we’ll do it. And I’m sure that (the creator of the series) And (Harmon) he’s going to put in like 12 lines about how long it took us to get together. But we’ll get there. We’re getting there. It just takes a moment.”
What will the film be about?
Community is a sitcom that ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2015. The protagonist is a group of students at Greendale Community College; the series follows their adventures, from pillow fights to paintball battles in the school. Community she was praised for the metahumor and the performances of the actors.
We currently know nothing about the plot of the film, although we know – said by Dan Harmon – that we will not see paintball competitions or a scenario where Greendale has been closed for decades (or even demolished). However, Harmon said that by the time we see them again in the film, the protagonists will have spent time away from each other. He says: “There’s a reason they get together and there’s a reason they have to be together.”
To TVLine McHale teases: “I know what happens in the film, but I can’t say anything. From what I know, it’s fantastic, really.”
The series was created by Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty).
