Ted Lasso did it really end with the third season? Ever since the arrival of the new round of episodes of the Apple TV + TV series was announced, the creators and writers have misled the public, making conflicting statements regarding the future of the show. The latest episode, which arrived on the streaming platform on May 31, however, seemed to have the bittersweet taste of a farewell. What is certain is that Bill Lawrence has succeeded again: after 14 years have passed since the airing of the finale of Scrubs, made us laugh through tears again with the epilogue of a comedy. While Apple TV+ has not yet officially announced whether the TV series will be renewed or canceled, Jason Sudeikis recently thought about it to take stock of the situation.
The actor and screenwriter of Ted Lasso said the story of the series is over (but that there may be spin-offs).

Jason Sudeikis was a guest on an episode of the podcast Fly on the Wall on May 31, in which he answered questions from the two presenters Dana Carvey e David Spade. Naturally the actor got to talk about the end of the comedy, which saw him take on the role of bumbling coach Ted Lasso. For three seasons, spectators cheered on Richmond, hoping that the team and its manager would achieve the coveted victory. The ending maybe didn’t give the audience what they wanted, but probably what the story needed and viewers reacted positively to the last episode. But is there a chance the story could move forward into a fourth season (sans Ted Lasso)? Jason Sudeikis definitively answered this question:
“This story is over. Sounds like such a political answer, but it’s the truth. We only conceived these three (seasons)then this thing became this big old thing.”
Since the ending left some questions open, these could find an answer in a spin-off. If the actor has ruled out that the original TV series can go on, he has not shown equally against the creation of a spin-off. Jason Sudeikis then confirmed that the team of Ted Lasso is considering this option and then added:
“Whether it’s (a book), whether it’s podcasting episodes to offer audio commentary… or even just to talk about the themes of the show. And he could also explain the show in a much more cerebral way than I could ever explain it to anyone. Yes, there are opportunities, I think, for spin-offs.”
