The third season of The Witcher, which will be divided into its parts, represents the last chance for fans to see Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia.
A little over a month after the release, the lead actor has revealed some details on the new plot, talking about war and ties:
“Now there’s a real threat. It’s real, it’s not theoretical anymore, it’s practical. And it’s very dangerous. Geralt and Ciri walk the lion’s den wherever they go. Geralt’s role as father figure fits them perfectly, it’s nice to see that despite his cynical, harsh and withdrawn nature there is actually a very loving heart”.
Furthermore Cavill underlined how the witcher remains true to its nature:
“Geralt has been very glib about these threats of war, famine and the end times. But as everyone is looking for Ciri, it changes his whole perspective on things”.
The family dynamic will not only focus on Geralt and Ciri, but Yennefer as well (Anya Chalotra), who will become more of a mother to the Princess of Cintra. Given the threats that the trio will face within the new episodes, it will be interesting to see how these particular connections develop.
The first part of the third season of The Witcher will come up Netflix on June 29, while the second part will be available from July 27.
