Citadel, in 2024 Citadel Diana arrives, the TV series filmed in Italy
Prime Video announced on Wednesday 12 October 2022 that the production of the Italian chapter of the universe was officially starting in Italy Citadel, the groundbreaking global event TV series from Prime Video and AGBO from brothers Anthony and Joe Russo.
Prime Video has also confirmed that to interpret the role of the protagonist in the Italian Original series – whose title citadel diana was revealed on Friday May 26, 2022 – it is Matilda De Angelis (The Undoing), alongside the cast composed by Lorenzo Cervasio, Maurizio Lombardi, Thekla Reuten, Julia Piaton, Filippo Nigro and Bernhard Schütz. Filming wrapped in late March/early April 2023.

This new futuristic Original series produced in Italy is directed by Arnaldo Catinari (Subura) and written by Alessandro Fabbri – who also covers the role of head writer -, Ilaria Bernardini, Laura Colella, Gianluca Bernardini, and Giordana Mari.

Gina Gardini (Gomorrah, Suburra, ZeroZeroZero) is the showrunner and produces the series together with Riccardo Tozzi, Marco Chimenz, and Giovanni Stabilini for Cattleya, the production company of critically acclaimed international hits such as Gomorra, Zero Zero Zero and Suburra. Emanuele Savoini is co-executive producer.
When does the Italian Citadel TV series come out
citadel diana – the new series local Original of espionage, first local production in the franchise of Citadel – will be available during 2024 exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
No details are known about the plot of the Italian spin-off of Citadel, but we know that it is an action story with an international flavor connected directly to the events of the first season of the mother series Citadel, available in full from May 26 on Amazon.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Quantico), Richard Madden (Bodyguard) and Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games saga) are the protagonists of the mother series of Citadel, from the AGBO of the Russo brothers. With a second season already confirmed, and – against a budget of 250 million dollars – the series has already won the title of the second most expensive fiction production in history (after The Rings of Poweralso by Amazon).
