It’s no surprise: the second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worldskicking off June 15 on Paramount+will include a crossover – part live-action and part animated – with Star Trek: Lower Decksthe first animated series of the Star Trek Universe. Il new trailer released by the streaming service shows for the first time some moments of the special episode, revealing the flesh-and-blood versions of Ensigns Beckett Mariner and Brad Boimler played by Tawny Newsome e Jack Quaidthe same voice actors from the animated versions.

Stream every Thursday with a new episode, in the second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds the crew of the USS Enterprise, under the command of Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount), will face increasingly dangerous challenges, explore uncharted territories and encounter new life forms and civilizations. And the one where Mariner and Boimler end up on the Enterprise will definitely be one of them. “That costume has a lot of layers, and ours was a little different than theirs, obviously because it was made to look like our costumes in Lower Decks“, Newsome told TV Insider. “It sucks you in completely but it also does things like hold your shoulders in place, really making you look taller. There’s a lot going on. I live”.
