The plot of Secret Invasion
Created by Kyle Bradstreet, Secret Invasion it has 6 episodes and is set in the current MCU (so most likely five years after Avengers: Endgame, in 2025). We find Nick Fury learning of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls and reuniting with his allies, including Everett Ross (Martin Freeman), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) and the Skrull Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an impending invasion of Skrulls who have quietly infiltrated and replaced some of Earth’s most powerful and influential leaders.
In the new trailer, the former director of SHIELD played by Samuel L. Jackson tells James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) that an invasion is rocking the Earth, referring to the shapeshifting Skrulls we’ve already seen in Captain Marvel e WandaVision. “But we also can’t tell who the invaders are,” he adds worriedly. Things get more complicated when Skrull ally Talos grabs Skrull rebel Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir) and realizes that the latter has dozens of clones posing as him. But why didn’t Fury call the Avengers for help? “This is a war I have to fight alone,” he explains to MI6 agent Sonya Falsworth (Olivia Colman).
