During the Netflix Upfronts, the streaming giant confirmed that the fifth season of Virgin River it will arrive this fall, news that may disappoint fans impatient for new episodes. However, Netflix followed up this revelation with a major announcement.
While the debut of the next chapter is still months away, the platform has announced the renewal of the TV series for a sixth season. This decision should come as no surprise, considering how the show’s popularity solidified over its first four seasons.
Jinny Howe of Netflix expressed his excitement for the future of the show, and also gave some previews about the upcoming fifth season, promising that Virgin River will continue to give fans what they have loved from the beginning:
“The series represents a community that we all feel a part of. It’s comforting and it offers hope, and I think those are things people will never get tired of. It will be interesting to see how this universe continues to grow, welcome new characters and bring back old faces. A lot was teased in the season 4 finale, so it will be really exciting to see how it all culminates in season 5.”.
