An indiscretion would seem to have revealed the title of the new film written and directed by Dave Filoni, which will make fans of the saga happy.

At the Star Wars Celebration this year the cinematic future of the most famous saga ever was finally revealed. Among the various projects announced, one in particular has captured the attention of the fans, namely the film written and directed by Dave Filoni and which will be a mega crossover of all the TV series broadcast in recent years. A recent indiscretion would seem to have revealed the title and will make fans of the saga happy.
According to the scooper @MyTimeToShineHello the movie will be called Star Wars: Heir to the Empire, the title by which the first novel in the Thrawn trilogy written by Timothy Zahn is known. Apparently Jon Favreau will limit himself to producing it, while the writing and direction is entrusted entirely to Filoni. The novel was also published in Italy with the title The Heir to the Empire.
Waiting for confirmation from Lucasfilm, the rumor would seem very reliable since Filoni himself had declared how Grand Admiral Thrawn, played by Lars Mikkelsen, would have been the main villain of his film. The live action debut of the character will take place this summer in the series Ahsoka.

When will Filoni’s film be released?
At the moment there are still no precise details on the film’s release, but many expect it to arrive in theaters no earlier than 2025. On the character of Thrawn, Dave Filoni had expressed himself in the following way: “He wasn’t another villain wearing a helmet and using a lightsaber, you know? There’s a lot of work that goes into making characters that are like Vader because he’s so iconic. But the courage that Tim had was to realize someone who wasn’t that way at all, that he didn’t have those skills, but he could fight differently.“.
