Before the big wedding event, the crown awards various aristocratic titles to non-white people, such as Agatha Danbury and her husband. This is where the Great Experiment starts, that is to make the British nobility more integrated, in order to make the “choice of Charlotte” as Queen intentional and not a “mistake”.
Did the Great Experiment really happen?
Many fans wondered if the Grand Experiment really happened. In the history of the British monarchy, this never happened. For its part, Shonda Rhimes he drew on true events to tell his story. Director Tom Verica stated in this regard: “What if society embraced these differences and elevated black people to positions and ranks of prominence? The great experiment allows us to reinvent what that world might have been like if that part of Carlotta’s identity had been recognized.
Bottom line, for the purposes of the story, the Grand Experiment worked. In the parent series Bridgerton the aristocracy is well integrated as – for example – the marriage between Simon e Daphne.
