Watergate as you’ve never been told. It’s about Infiltrate the White House (o White House Plumbers as in the original version), a new miniseries – broadcast in Italy exclusively on Sky and streaming only on NOW from 11 June every Sunday with a new episode – in which the Oscar-nominated Woody Harrelson and Emmy winner Justin Theroux they take part in a lucid and irreverent account of the lesser-known events that led to one of the biggest scandals in American politics. In the meantime, it is now possible to enjoy the official trailer dubbed in Italian.
The plot and the cast of Infiltrate the White House
Created by Emmy winners Alex Gregory e Peter Huyckfor HBO already behind the scenes of Veep, Infiltrate the White House traces the story of the political saboteurs of the President of the United States of America Richard Nixon, E. Howard Hunt (Harrelson) and G. Gordon Liddy (Theroux), who accidentally managed to overthrow the presidency they were so zealously trying to protect, and together their families to it. It starts from 1971, when the White House hires Hunt and Liddy, respectively a former CIA agent and a former FBI agent, to investigate the Pentagon Papers leak. Incredibly landed on President Nixon’s Re-election Committee, the unlikely pair plot several incredible covert operations, including illegal wiretapping of the Democratic National Committee offices at the Watergate Hotel.
The series faces with disenchantment a page of history that shocked the political world, reporting the facts with a note of lightness and sarcasm that allows viewers to ironically re-read a complex story that brought down the myth of the invulnerability of the White House. Also in the cast Lena Headey (Game of thrones), Judy Greer (Reboot), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), David Krumholtz (Numb3rs), Kathleen Turner (The Kominsky method) and many others.
