Sea Out, Hbo is for the American remake
Unstoppable success Sea out on RaiPlay: in February they amounted to 105 million views generated by the title on the public service video on demand platform. The rest of the world is also beginning to observe the phenomenon with interest Sea Out. The series – distributed internationally by Beta Film – has already landed, with the title of ‘The Sea Beyond’, in various foreign countries such as Germany, where it appears in the Disney + catalog.
Among the projects in the works abroad is the request for an adaptation “from the United States, for which (Rai) is in negotiations”: the director of Rai Fiction Maria Pia Ammirati revealed it to Ansa last month. In a more recent interview with The Republic taken from Adkronos, Ammirati reveals that Hbo is the American broadcaster interested in making the US remake of Mare Fuori, the title of which should be The Sea Beyond.
If the series were to become a reality, it would be the second Rai project to make the leap overseas in less than a year. The news that the American broadcaster Fox has commissioned the remake of stars and stripes dates back to the last few weeks Doc – In your hands with a female protagonist instead of the character played by Luca Argentero.
