The Show of Records is the official TV program of Guinness World Records.
Tonight Canale 5 broadcasts the most exciting moments of the 2023 edition of the program that has just ended. The Guinness World Record was born in 1955 as a book, published annually since then, which collects all the records of the world and of every kind. It is one of the best-selling books in the world, published in over 100 countries and translated into 37 languages. From the paper version comes the television one, present in 35 countries. It made its debut in Italy on Canale 5 in 2006.
Gerry Scotti also holds a still unbeaten record: he is the presenter with the most episodes conducted in the world (1,690) of the quiz Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
What We have seen in this edition: The Monza racetrack once again hosted the outdoor tests, where the public had the opportunity to admire spectacular feats. The envoy Umberto Pelizzari awarded the records and narrated the stories of the participants, while the judges sent from the London headquarters, Lorenzo Veltri and Sofia Greenacre, together with Ambassador Marco Frigatti, certified the various records obtained in the studio.
The broadcast also included some challenges between performers, in which two or more competitors competed for a new impossible record. Among the challenges, Strongmen and Strongwomen found space.
In this edition, the trial of Palo Grasso, last seen years ago, is back with great emotion. It was a 12-metre pole, covered with grease, to be covered in the shortest possible time without falling.
Every week, some brave competitors tried to complete the feat and the one who had the best time had to challenge Antonino Papa, current Guinness World Record holder since 2015, in the last episode.
