Production on The Penguin is still active on the New York City set. A big change of direction from the Gotham City seen in the film The Batman of 2022, which instead was rebuilt between Liverpool and London, with some scenes shot in Glasgow and Chicago.
New photos have recently surfaced of the TV series that sees the return of Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, one of the most famous villains in the DC comic saga. The images portray the protagonist and Sophia Falcone (Cristin Milioti) in elegant clothes, in their respective costumes.
Written by Lauren LeFranc and directed by Craig Zobel (Murder in Easttown), the show is a sequel to the film of Matt Reeves and is based on the characters created by the cartoonists Bob Kane e Bill Finger.
The new co-CEOs of DC Studios James Gunn e Peter Safran they talked about the Batman universe:
“Matt is working on The Batman 2, which he considers a crime saga that also includes the Penguin TV series. It is its own thing and he is working hard on it. Our plan is for this to continue.”.
The Penguin – of which the first teaser was shared – will consist of 8 episodes and could be released in 2024 on the new streaming platform, Max.
