We all know by now, Indiana Jones and the Quadrant of Destinyin cinemas from June 28, has a prologue of about twenty minutes in which we follow an Indy adventure in the the Fortiesbut always with Harrison Ford: his younger version has been digitally recreated by Industrial Light & Magic, while the main story takes place in 1969 and sees a prof. Jones elderly, consistent with Ford’s actual age today. But how did this operation go? digital rejuvenation? Director James Mangold told Total Film.

We had hundreds of hours of filming with him (at Lucasfilm, ed): close-ups, medium, total shots, illuminated in every way, by night and day. On Monday I could film Harrison who at 79 pretended to have 35, and on Wednesday I could see the dailies with his head already replaced. (…) she was a amazing technology and, in many respects, I can say that I haven’t even thought about it much. I just walked around a crazy opening scene more or less twenty-five minutes, it was my chance to let loose. (…) The aim was to give to the public a large dose of what he has been missing for a long time. Because then the film glides to 1969, and you will have to adapt to today’s worlda little different than it was.
