The new Paramount+ series, sequel to the 90s sitcom, sees Kelsey Grammer return as radio host Frasier Crane.
Another beloved star of Frasier is ready to return in the revival of Paramount+. Perry Gilpinwho played Roz Doyle, the producer of the Frasier radio show (Kelsey Grammer) during the 11-season run of the NBC original series, she will reprise her role in an episode of the new series.
Frasier: The Revival Plot
The new series follows radio host Frasier as he returns to Boston and faces new challenges, new relationships, and has an old dream or two to fulfill. From previous news, we know that a new cast, with many young faces, will join the protagonist Kelsey Grammer who will find himself working in a university environment. In the original series Frasier left for a new city facing new challenges, now he returns to where it all began. The first two episodes are directed by the legendary director (already behind the scenes of Cin Con e Frasier) James Burrows.
He cast
Alongside Grammer, the British actor will be in this sequel Nicholas Lyndhurst (playing Frasier’s old college friend, college professor Alan Cornwall), Jack Cutmore-Scott (as Lilith and Frasier’s son Freddy), Anders Keith (as Daphne and Niles’ son David), Jess Willow (as Freddy’s roommate Eve) e Toks Olagundoye (as Alan’s colleague and head of the university’s psychology department).
We also know that too Bebe Neuwirth will guest star in an episode returning as Lilith, the ex of Frasier. Grammer revealed in an interview that the former brother of hers on screen David Hyde Pierce “He basically decided he wasn’t interested in playing Niles again,” though he hopes that Jane Leeves may appear as Daphne (we remind you instead that John Mahoneywho played Frasier’s father Martin Crane, died in 2018).
Paramount+ hasn’t announced one yet exit date of the series.
