Outer Range: Josh Brolin poses naked on the set of season 2, and there's a reason

The protagonist of the Prime Video neo-western series has shared a photo in which we see him naked to send a message: the second season will take a different direction.

Josh Brolin pique our curiosity by posting a provocative and certainly out of the ordinary photo taken on the set of the second season of Outer Rangethe supernatural western series by Prime Video in which he plays a Wyoming rancher fighting for his land and his family. In the picture the actor shows himself naked while enjoying a moment of relaxation between one shoot and another by launching a very specific message: in the second season, Outer Range will take a different direction.

The plot of Outer Range

For those who don’t know her, Outer Range tells the story of Royal Abbott (Josh Brolin), who owns a ranch in Wyoming. Abbott fights for his land and his family and uncovers an unfathomable mystery in the heart of the wilderness. At first, his family deals with the disappearance of his daughter-in-law Rebecca, but they are soon pushed to the brink when the owners of the nearby ranch try to take over their land. Things in the small community of Wyoming get more complicated when a mysterious, dark chasm appears in the Abbott’s western pasture.

The previews of the second season

The series was renewed by Prime Video for a second season last October, and Charles Murray (Sons of Anarchy, Luke Cage) took over as showrunner from the creator Brian Watkins. Josh Brolin hints that the series will take a different direction in the new episodes. “Setting up a scene for the second season of Outer Range“, wrote the actor on his Instagram page. “We’re taking things in a different direction now. It is a changing world and we must be sensitive to everyone. The power of example is everything, so let’s be examples. We shouldn’t be posting photos from the series, but this photo wasn’t exactly taken on the set of the series, but rather during a cookout in the beautiful Santa Fe desert. Thank you @brianbowensmith for documenting our most private moments on set,” he added.

Brolin remained somewhat cryptic about the meaning of this photo but we have to trust him if he tells us that the new episodes of Outer Range they might surprise us. Meanwhile, it is better to recover the first season (made up of 8 episodes) on Prime Video, if you haven’t seen it yet.
