The description of the Barbie movie scenes previewed at CinemaCon showed the characters of Will Ferrell and John Cena.
Barbie was presented at the CinemaCon event, where some were presented scene preview of the project with star Margot Robbie e Ryan Gosling, grappling with the colorful world of characters inspired by Mattel games. No videos have surfaced online or images shared, however the description of the material shown gives some previews of the project.
The description of the previewed scenes
A preview scene from Barbie showed Margot Robbie waking up in a heart-shaped bed. Shortly after, a dance sequence was proposed, accompanied by the narrator declaring: ‘This is the best day ever! And it was yesterday too and it will be tomorrow too!’.
However, Barbie has an existential crisis and asks her friends if they ever think about death, before showing that not everything is going as it should in Barbie Land when the protagonist’s foot, usually shaped perfectly for shoes, goes flat on the ground. Kate McKinnon, who plays the “Weird Barbie”, then offers her the option of wearing a heel or a sandal. The first of the two shoes represents her old life, while the second symbolizes the desire for knowledge. Apparently the young woman will choose the second option and will embark on a journey to discover the real world with Ken, played by Ryan Gosling, during which they will meet John Cena who plays the part of a mermaid.
In the video shown there is then room for Barbie and Ken skating on Venice Beach, a sequence of which photos from the set had emerged. In the material proposed at CinemaCon there was also space for the character of Will Ferrell who declares: ‘If people start to realize that our characters are coming to life, it means that really strange things will happen in our world’.
