Netflix renewed The Sandman for a second season last fall, though the new episodes may not actually be called “season 2.”
The lack of news on the next chapter has left fans wondering what’s going on, but in the past few hours Neil Gaiman has delivered a major update on the future of the TV series, and it looks like things are moving forward.
A fan asked Gaiman “a little news” about the next batch of episodes of The Sandman, and the creator replied that the scripts are ready, casting is underway, and sets are under construction.
The TV series stars Tom Sturridge as the main character, Dream, alongside Gwendoline Christie come Lucifer, Charles Dance as Roderick Burgess, Asim Chaudhry dressed as Abel, Sanjeev Bhaskar as Cain, Jenna Coleman come Johanna Constantine, Joel Richardson in the character of Ethel Cripps, David Thewlis as John Dee, Boyd Holbrook in the guise of The Corinthian, Stephen Fry as Gilbert, Patton Oswalt like the voice of Matthew Cable, Mason Alexander Park as Desire e Kirby Howell-Baptiste like Death.
The first season of The Sandman is available on Netflix.
