The Last of Us came in its television series form on HBO (here you can find the ranking of the 10 best HBO TV series) e Sky (e Now).
The two protagonists Joel ed Ellieare played by the actors Peter Pascal e Bella Ramsey. The young actress, whom the general public got to know thanks to the role of Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thronesrevealed that choosing to be a part of this series was a risky career choice.
And to think that in its place we could have seen other actresses: Maisie Williams e Kaitlyn Dever were both considered for the role of Ellie.

The tv series The Last of Us is the adaptation of the video game of the same name, released in 2013.
Just after the great success of the video game, in 2014 we started thinking about an adaptation in the form of a film. As ScreenRant reports, this project binds the name of Maisie Williams: the actress who played Arya Stark in Game of Thrones she had been considered for the part of Ellie in the film adaptation. Sam Raimi would have been the producer, while Neil Druckman, creative director of the video game, would be in charge of the script. The fans were very happy with this project and the presence of Williams, so much so that they proposed another actor from Game of Thronesi.e. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
Unfortunately, however, the adaptation was not made and the agreements with Williams (which were not official anyway) fell through. When HBO in 2020 announced the development of the TV series with Craig Mazin (the author of Chernobyl) to direct the series, it was decided to look for another actress.
Another name related to Ellie’s role is Kaitlyn Dever, that we have seen in Justified. The actress was among dozens of performers who auditioned for the part. In the end Dever didn’t get it, also because it was too big for Ellie, who is 14 years old in the story.

The Last of Us is a tv series created by Craig Mazin e Neil Druckman.
It tells a story set following the outbreak of a pandemic that turns humans into zombie-like monsters. Joel, a cynical smuggler without any hope for humanity, is forced to travel across the United States with Ellie, a girl immune to the pandemic virus. What was supposed to be a simple and quick delivery turns into a long journey that marks the two forever.
The HBO series has officially been renewed for a second season, which will have more infected and more variants.
