After the rumors of the last few days, the official has arrived from HBO Max: Harry Potter will become a TV series.
After the agreement signed with J.K. Rowling – who will be the executive producer – David ZaslavCEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, made the project official during the presentation of the new Max platform, born from the union of Discovery + and HBO Max.
The British writer commented on her involvement as follows:
“Max’s commitment to preserving the integrity of my novels is important to me, and I look forward to being a part of this new adaptation that will allow for a degree of depth and detail only a TV series can offer.”.
The writers and showrunner remain unknown, while there will be a new cast to lead a new generation of enthusiasts.
Casey Bloyschairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content, confirmed the team’s research:
“We’ve been trying to play it very hole-in-the-wall. We haven’t contacted the agencies yet. Now that the news is out, we’ll start working with the Blair Partnership and look around.”
Bloys further stated:
“Our priority is what appears on the screen. Rowling will be involved. Her suggestions will be very useful. Obviously the story of Harry Potter is incredibly positive, it is about love and self-acceptance, that is our focus. The TV series is something new and we are excited, but remember one thing: we have been working on Harry Potter for 20 years. This is not a new decision.”.
The managers of the US network have confirmed that the show will faithfully resume the theme of the seven books of the famous saga published between 1997 and 2007.
