The new series is just the latest installment in the popular sci-fi franchise, spanning thirteen films and numerous TV series
As well as Game of thrones, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars and many other world-famous fantasy or sci-fi sagas, even around Star Trek was born a franchise full of parallel stories, spin-offs, prequels and sequels. The science fiction universe of Star Trek was born with the TV series of the 1960s: the original story, set in the future, focuses on the crew of the starship USS Enterprise of the Federation of United Planets, led by the iconic Captain Kirk. However, it can be said that the saga became famous thanks to the film series, consisting of thirteen films (produced from 1976 to 2016). Now, the world of Star Trek is expanding with the creation of numerous TV seriesamong which we mention Voyager, Enterprise, Discovery, Picard, Strange New Worlds and many others.
