The White Lotus changes continent again – after filming in Hawaii the first season and in Italy, in Taormina, the second. The new episodes will be born in three different resorts, scattered between the city, countryside, jungle and beach between Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and the Golden Triangle overlooking the border between Laos and Myanmar.
The executive producer David Bernard he had already anticipated his desire to film in Asia:
“We have tried to work a lot in Asia; we hope that the third season will be our chance”.
Similarly, the creator of the TV series Mark White he had anticipated some details in a video published at the end of the previous chapter:
“Season 1 focused on money, while Season 2 focused on sex, and I think Season 3 might have a sort of humorous, satirical look at death in Eastern religion and spirituality.”.
The next cast will probably bring new characters to the stage with Tanya McQuoid, character played by Jennifer Coolidge which also earned her the Golden Globe, which will no longer be in the story. There remains a small door open, therefore, for Sabrina Impacciatore given the great success it has achieved especially in the USA. It would be plausible to imagine that Valentina, the director of the White Lotus resort in Sicily, could perhaps move to Thailand. Another narrative line deliberately left open is that of Greg (Jon Gries) who has a dark past to be clarified.
At the moment the production of the new batch of episodes has yet to start.
