Senna: The details of the miniseries and all the statements
Written by Vicente Amorim (who has already collaborated with Leone in Duet), directed by him with Julia Rezende and created in collaboration with the pilot’s family, Senna will reveal the personality and relationships of the three-time Formula 1 world champion, showing the trajectories of his triumphs, disappointments, joys and sorrows. The miniseries begins the story from the early days of Ayrton’s sporting career, when he moved to England to compete in Formula Ford, and concludes it with the tragic accident on the Imola circuit during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.
“It is a huge responsibility and also a great honor to be able to represent an icon who has inspired so many people throughout his life, showcasing Brazilian sporting talent to the world,” said Leone. “Knowing that we will be bringing his story to millions in so many countries, through Netflix, inspires me to see this as one of the great roles of my career.” Amorim said, “Gabriel Leone has the charisma, intensity and kindness of Senna.” “We were blown away by how he brought Ayrton to life when he auditioned him. He’s a Brazilian actor who is an up-and-coming international star,” added the executive producer. Fabiano Gullane. Per Viviane SennaAyrton’s sister Leone “has the ability to portray Ayrton’s unique personality, especially the Ayrton we, as a family, knew off the track”.
