Darkness and Bones (originally known as Shadow and Bone), the fantasy series based on the novels of Leigh Bardugo (here are the 5 big differences between the books and the Netflix series), is back on Netflix with its second season.
We then returned to follow the story of Alina Starkov, the Evocaluce, and the other characters of the series. Among these, also the Crows: Kaz, Inej, Jesper, Matthias, Nina and Wylan. Characters who may soon have a spin-off of their own.

The Serie Netflix comes from the books of Leigh Bardugo, and especially from the trilogy of Shadow and Bonepublished in Italy as Darkness and Bones. The first season was based on the first volume, titled precisely Darkness and Boneswhile the second will adapt the second volume, Siege and Storm.
The Netflix series integrates this trilogy of novels with another work of the Bardugo, always set in the same imaginary world. In fact, in the series we also see the characters that appear in the paper duology of You are from Ravens.
But the duology could have its own spin-off, thus bringing to the screen the adventures of the Crows told in the two novels, You are from Ravens e The corrupt kingdom.
To reveal it is Eric Heisserer, co-showrunner of the series, that a Entertainment Weekly he says he’s working on making the spin-off. He says:
“One of the reasons – not all – that I was privileged to work with Daegan Fryklind as co-showrunner on Season 2 was that I was busy with the Six of Crows writing team. We’re ready to launch it as a standalone story. The scripts for the eight episodes are fantastic, I’m really proud of my team for the work they’ve done.”
Heisserer confirms that part of the spinoff would take place during the events of the season 2 finale Shadow and Bone.
At the moment, however, the spin-off is in the very early stages of processing and not yet close to getting the go-ahead for construction. Heisserer says a lot depends on how Season 2 goes Darkness and Boneswhich arrived on Netflix on March 16.
What is the duology about You are from Ravens
The duology is set in Ketterdam: Kaz Brekker, a notorious thief known as “Dirty Hands”, receives an offer from one of the richest and most powerful merchants in the city: in exchange for an exorbitant cash reward, Kaz will have to free the scientist Bo Yul-Bayur from the Court of Ice, impregnable fortress located in the kingdom of Fjerda, and bring him safely back to the city.
To infiltrate the fortress Kaz hires a gang: Inej Ghafa, a former acrobat and skilled spy; Jesper Fahey, an infallible marksman with a gambling habit; Nina Zenik, a Grisha from Ravka’s Second Army; Matthias Helvar, a former Drüskelle from Fjerda inmate in Kerch prison; and Wylan van Eck, a wealthy young runaway with a talent for making explosives. The six will have to learn to work as a team and to trust each other.
Shadow and Bone: what Netflix fantasy is about
Set in a fictitious nation that resembles Russia, Ravka, the first season tells the story of orphan Alina Starkov who discovers that she is the Summoner Light, or that she is able to summon light, in order to be able to destroy the threat of the Fault , a huge gray area that divides Ravka in two. Meanwhile, in the nation of Kerch, Kaz Brekker and his team are hired to kidnap Alina.
