Zack Snyder unveiled the details of the event Full Circlei.e. the SnyderCon 2023which will bring its DC films back to theaters for three days.
On the big screen, fans can see Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and the director’s version of Justice League in IMAX format Friday, April 28-Sunday, April 30 at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and the ‘Universal City Walk in Universal City.
The goal of the Full Circle event is to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Autumn Snyder Tribute Fund.
Zack Snyder said: “I’ve always wanted to show my three DC films in theaters together, and it’s always been one of those things that we were never sure was going to happen. We screened the IMAX version of Justice League a couple of times in the black and white version. I was just not sure there would be another time when we could bring the color one into the room“.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League: The Whole Snyder Cut Story
The filmmaker gave up on the Justice League film after his daughter Autumn committed suicide in March 2017. The possibility of showing the film as he had conceived it and in the format he had wanted from the beginning, i.e. IMAX, made him very happy: “I want everyone to see the film in IMAX because it was designed for that format, it was really designed for an IMAX experience. When you see it I think you will find it completely different from when you see it on TV“.
The Full Circle event, according to the director, will be a way to thank fans for the support received from fans with requests to distribute his version of Justice League and for the support given to organizations that deal with information on mental health issues and suicide prevention.
Zack said: “In many ways the entire Justice League movement revolves around these events: Autumn’s death and how it emotional us all. I think, at least for me, that’s the question: the paper-based nature of making the film and having this experience with the fans. And to find that so many fans of the film were, too, dealing with mental health issues or having thoughts related to taking their own lives. Through the film and the experience of making it, people have been able to find this purpose, this common cause. And also, one thing they loved had a connection to mental health and they could connect with that aspect and they felt they had a personal connection to that project“.
Those who participate in the event, in addition to seeing the three films, will receive a t-shirt designed by artist Jim Lee and exclusive posters, one dedicated to the event and one to the SnyderVerse trilogy.
The event also features appearances of the Batmobile and other highlights, including contests featuring exclusive merchandise.
