It has been almost nine years since the first season of HBO aired True Detective, which starred the two detectives Rust Cohle and Marty Hart. It has been announced that Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson will star in the new Apple TV+ comedy series.
It was the first to report the news Variety which revealed that the reunion of the two beloved actors, which will take place in a very special show. This time, in fact, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson will not play characters but will bring themselves and their friendship in front of the camera. The comedy, whose name has not yet been announced, will see the two actors test their long-standing friendship. In fact, they will try to live together with their families on Matthew McConaughey’s ranch in Texas. And of course, those tight borders will strain this historic friendship. We still don’t know when this comedy, whose first season will consist of ten episodes of 30 minutes each, will arrive on the streaming platform. Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey have already worked together several times in the past: in 1998 they were the protagonists of The Newton Boys and later they acted as a couple in plays EDTv e Surfer, Dude. In 2014 then they got the role of life in the first season of True Detectivewhich earned them both Emmy Award nominations. Now in this new comedy they will have the opportunity to show the audience the secrets of their long-lasting and close-knit friendship.
