The new season will once again tell the story of the young Austrian queen played by Emilia Schüle, who will have Louis Cunningham (Bridgerton) at her side as the king of France, Louis XVI. The new episodes, as reported by Variety, “they will show how the couple at the height of their power coped with an unprecedented financial crisis. The attacks of Provence and Chartres against the royal couple will arouse the hatred of the nobles with disastrous consequences“.

Produced by Capa Drama and Banijay Studios France, the series will once again be distributed globally by Banijay Rights.

Meanwhile, filming for the second season is expected to begin in the fall. The first season proved successful outside of France. Will this also be the case for the new episodes?
