This is the disturbing premise from which this new series (coming, for now only in the United States on Peacock, on April 20) starts, which bears the signature of Tara Hernandez (The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon) e Damon Lindelofthe visionary screenwriter behind hits like Lost, The Leftovers e Watchmen. The plot of Mrs. Davis
The series, described as an exploration of the relationship between faith and technology, chronicles an epic battle of biblical proportions. Betty Gilpin (GLOW) stars as a nun named Simone who wages a strange war against a very powerful Artificial Intelligence known as Mrs. Davis that is heavily affecting people’s lives. Jake McDorman (Dopesick) plays Simone’s former rebel, Wiley, who is also determined to carry out a personal vendetta against the algorithm.
In the trailer we see the heroine nun Simone grappling with a mission that is certainly not the easiest: to search for the Holy Grail. Along the way, she runs into Wiley and the two speed on a motorcycle in the desert in a scene that already promises to be epic.
The rest of the cast
Andy McQueen (Outer Banks) plays another friend of Simone’s, Jay. The rest of the cast includes, in recurring roles, Ben Chaplin, Margo Martindale, David Arquette, Elizabeth Marvel, Katja Herbers, Chris Diamantopoulos, Ashley Romans, Tom Wlaschiha e Matilda Oliver.
Mrs. Davis is produced by Warner Bros. Television, to which both Tara Hernandez and Lindelof are linked by an agreement. The Emmy Award-winning director Owen Harris (Black Mirror: San Junipero, Brave New World) e Althea Jones they directed several episodes and are also executive producers alongside Lindelof and Hernandez, with the latter also serving as showrunner.
