At the Italian box office of the weekend Creed III is still in the lead, but L’ultima notte di Amore with Pierfrancesco Favino enters in second place.
Creed III holds the first place of the weekend Italian box office, with another 1,451,000 euros for a total in Italy of 5,470,200. In the world the sequel starring and directed by Michael B. Jordan has reached 179,360,000 dollars (per 100 of budget), and should therefore break even in a short time: regardless of the wait, the “creed-verse” it has already been confirmed by Jordan, even without Sylvester Stallone, who did not enter the ring this round.
Noir debuted in second position instead The Last Night of Love by Andrea Di Stefano with Pierfrancesco Favinoa lieutenant close to retirement, who sees his colleague Dino die on his last night shift: the starting price is 965,300 euros.
Scream VI instead debuts in third place with 782,650 euros: the film by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, in the second Scream after the previous chapter-reboot, was less successful here in Italy than in the States. In fact, there the feature film dethroned Creed III, totaling 44,500,000 dollars in the US. Boxoffice Pro points out that it is historically the best American start for a film in the saga, 48% higher than that of the Scream del 2022. Behind Scream VI there is only Scream 3 from 2000, with 34,700,000 dollars (but updated to inflation it would be 60!). However, Scream VI travels around the world for a total of 67,100,000 dollars, for a budget of about 35, which has practically already been recovered.
Slide from second to fourth position The Whale by Darren Aronofsky, fresh from theOscar 2023 for Best Lead Actor went to Brendan Fraser: here he plays a self-destructive obese man, in a performance that effectively marked Fraser’s reentrée in Hollywood showbiz that counts, after a difficult decade. He collects another 394,400 euros, which flow into the Italian total of 2,140,650. The worldwide response is 36,650,000 dollars (for just 3 of cost!).
The Spanish cartoon falls from third to fifth place Mummies – A walk through timewhere a trio of bewildered undead find themselves in today’s London, hunting for a precious ring: they rake in another 292,500 euros, for a total of 1,753,000.
