Based on the graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang, American Born Chinese tells the story of Jin Wang (Ben Wang), a teenager who, after meeting a new student on the first day of the school year, becomes involved in a battle between mythological Chinese gods.
In the trailer, published on the Disney + YouTube channel, we see the protagonists at work in a context that blends magical and spiritual elements with the crazy action of the developments.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), written by Kelvin Yu and Charles Yu, with the former as showrunners, and produced by Melvin Mar, Jake Kasdan and Cretton himself, the series will debut on May 24th. Its cast includes: Yeo Yann Yann, Chin Han, Jimmy Liu, Sydney Taylor, Daniel Wu, Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan and Stephanie Hsu.
