The actor will appear in an upcoming episode of season 11, again aired in Italy on Sky Serie with the unpublished in the spring.
Not all bad comes with a silver lining, it seems. Jesse Spencer will reprise his role as firefighter Matt Casey in an upcoming season 11 episode of Chicago Firesomehow filling the void left by Taylor Kinney and her Kelly Severide after the actor’s recent sudden decision to take time off work to address a personal matter.
Chicago Fire 11: The Return of Jesse Spencer
Spencer had left the hit NBC series in the fall of 2021, in celebration of the 200th episode. His Casey had decided to move to Oregon to care for the children of his late best friend and colleague Andy Darden, while maintaining a long-distance (off-screen) relationship with Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer). At the time, the actor explained that he “realized that he’s been doing TV for a long time. I’ve done the math and I think this is my 18th year of television (between Chicago Fire e Dr. House). It was a tough decision because I’ve loved the show from the beginning, but there’s other things I’d like to do in the future, and there’s a family I need to take care of, and 18 is a long time.”
Taylor Kinney left Chicago Fire: Here’s what happened in the last episode
Having left the door open to the possibility of his return in the future, Spencer did so a short time later, in the season 10 finale, for Severide and Stella’s wedding (Miranda Rae May). Brett was there with him, but their story, sadly, didn’t bear the weight of the distance: in this season’s premiere, the couple broke up over the phone. What to wait now Casey? The reasons that will bring him back to Chicago have not been disclosed, while we know that episode 18 will involve him. His return may or may not have to do with the absence of Severide, gone-watch out for advances! – as far away as Alabama to attend an arson investigation training program. This left Commander Boden (Eamonn Walker) without one of his best men, without warning and it is not yet clear for how long.
